Eastover, NC Real Estate

About Eastover

Located southeast of center city Charlotte, Eastover was the first suburb with driveways for “motorcars.” The neighborhood’s stately homes have long attracted the leaders who helped shape Charlotte’s growth, including banker Hugh McColl Jr. and department store scion John Belk and the E. C. Griffith family who developed most of Eastover. One major landmark is The Mint Museum of Art. Eastover is also home to one of Charlotte's oldest Elementary Schools (Eastover Academy). The area is considered one of the finest historic neighborhoods in the Charlotte area.  Parks, public tennis courts and quaint, local shops and restaurants are within walking distance.  Eastover also features lovely shops like Colony Furniture, Windsor Hall and Windwood Antiques, Circa Interiors, Paul Simon Clothing, Morrison-Smith and Karat Patch Jewelers, John Dabbs Ltd. (Giftware), and The Buttercup, which sells fine stationary and monogrammed wedding gifts.

Don’t miss: A visit to The Manor Theatre, an old-time movie theater that shows art-house films.
